Washington D.C.- Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, today issued the following statement as House Republicans prepared to force an immediate vote on the bipartisan Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) passed by the Senate:
“The Speaker knows full well that the FISA bill approved by the Senate would pass in the House today. While the Speaker and other Democrat House leaders ignore intelligence professionals who continue to stress the need for this crucial legislation, America is forced to take on our enemies with one hand tied behind our backs. Time is of the essence, and in order to keep America safe Democrat House leaders must stop posturing and allow for a vote on the FISA legislation already passed by the Senate.”
