Washington D.C.- Congressman Jeb Hensarling (TX-05), Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, issued the following statement tonight after ABC News reported that Speaker Nancy Pelosi will skip a classified briefing tomorrow by General David Petraeus:
“Speaker Pelosi will now be the second Democrat leader in Congress this week to insult American servicemen and their mission. The reckless words and actions of the Democrat leaders are inexcusable and reveal a blatant disregard for the men and women who wear our nation’s uniform.
“I hope that after a night of rest and reflection, the Speaker reconsiders this decision and shows General Petraeus, the men and women serving in our armed forces, and their families the respect that they deserve.”
