| Eagle Scouts recognized by Congressman Marchant | ||

IRVING, TX – U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant on Aug. 7 recognized over forty Boy Scouts that achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at the National Scouting Museum in Irving. The honored Scouts were all residents of District 24, the area which Marchant represents in Congress. In recognition of their achievement, each Eagle Scout was awarded an American flag and gift of commemoration on behalf of the office of Congressman Marchant. An Eagle Scout is a Scout with the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America. Requirements include earning at least twenty-one merit badges and demonstrating Scout Spirit, service, and leadership. Before receiving their awards, each scout gave a short speech about the community service projects they conducted to improve the quality of life in the area. The service projects ranged from building shelters to cleaning up neighborhoods. “Eagle Scouts demonstrate the spirit, service, and leadership qualities that make us all proud,” said Marchant. “It is an honor to recognize the exceptional service of the Eagle Scouts and I commend them for their special achievement.” The Eagle Scouts honored by Marchant are: (Bedford) Daniel Hoenich; (Carrollton) Alexander Gonzales, Collin Conley, Salman Jasani, Bryan Mahoney, Bennett Mobley, Matthew Monroe, Jason Tennenbaum, Normand Vezina; (Cedar Hill) Austin Keese, James Miller; (Colleyville) Cannon Koester, Charles Rambo; (Coppell) Jonathan Berry, Mitchell Hansen, Erik Gruenes, Richard Olney, Joshua Otwell, Andrew Stack, Jeff Tepper; (Dallas) Jessee Cogbill, Rian Lowe; (Duncanville) Joshua Brown, Stephen Cahill, Walter Hafer, Jonathan Rich, Adrian Sobalvarro; (Farmers Branch) Kyle Lonquist; (Grand Prairie) Daniel Box, David Gage, Joseph King, Jr., Harrison Miller, Michael Swindell, Austin Tembrock; (Grapevine) Brent Biefeldt; (Irving) Jonathan Bellew, Preston Dendy, Frank Fusselman, Casey McDaniel; (Southlake) Andrew Christ and Dalton Harbour. After the ceremony, Eagle Scouts and their friends and families enjoyed refreshments in the lounge area and toured the National Scouting Museum. ### |
