CARROLLTON – U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX -24) honored the First Baptist Church of Carrollton with a Congressional Record commemorating the church’s 100th year anniversary.     

“I am honored to recognize the 100th year anniversary of this church.  For a century, this church has contributed to the growth and well being of our community,” said Marchant. “This Congressional Record acknowledges the church’s century long commitment to our community as a place of worship and faith, home to people in need, and an institute of good will.”      

The First Baptist Church of Carrolton was established in 1909, when thirteen people met for the purpose of organizing a new church in Carrolton, Texas.  Since then, the church has expanded to 4,500 members.  In 2001, the church acquired 107 acres of land in north Carrollton which will allow the church to expand its outreach in Carrollton and the surrounding community.
