IRVING, TX – U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX -24) hosted a series of round table discussions with his constituents during the August break. The discussions were held in Marchant’s district office in Irving. “The roundtable discussions were an effective way for me to listen to my constituents’ views on healthcare,” said Marchant. “Whether it’s by mail, phone, town hall, or roundtables like this, I am extremely pleased that the constituents from the 24th are engaged in their government and I will take their concerns and ideas back to Washington.” The discussions centered primarily on health care. Constituents from throughout the district voiced their concerns both for and against the current health care proposals. Other topics discussed included the economy, energy legislation, and national security. The roundtable discussions were part of Marchant’s effort to hear directly from constituents in the district. During the month of August, when Congress takes a month-long recess, Marchant met with hundreds of constituents in a variety of settings including one-on-one meetings and round table discussions at his office, at site visits and town halls, and at hospitals and businesses throughout the district.
