Marchant addresses National Star Route Mail Contractors’ Association
August 5, 2008

GRAPEVINE, TX -- U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) was the guest speaker for the National Star Route Mail Contractors’ Association Convention on August 4 at the Embassy Suites in Grapevine.

Marchant discussed some of the most pressing issues facing mail contractors across the nation, his role as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Federal Workforce and Postal Service, and energy legislation.

“As you all know what it takes to move products across the country efficiently and on time, you also know the impact high energy prices are having on your businesses and pocketbooks,” Marchant said.  “To keep America ahead in the world economy and environmentally safe, we must smartly invest in a diverse and long-term energy program that promotes wind, solar, nuclear, and domestic energy exploration.”

Members participated in a question and answer session following Marchant’s speech.

The event marked one of many speaking engagements in which Marchant has planned to participate in during the month of August, when members of Congress work in their respective District.
