IRVING, TX – U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) last week was awarded the “Spirit of Enterprise” award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Desoto. The Spirit of Enterprise award is presented annually to members of Congress based on their support of pro-growth legislation and key votes on business issues. “This is a great honor,” said Marchant. “I firmly believe that small businesses are the backbone of our economy. I will proudly continue to support legislation that creates more opportunities for small businesses to thrive in today’s global economy.” Marchant accepted the award by the U.S. Chamber after giving a legislative update to the Best Southwest Chamber. A representative of the U.S. Chamber, Pete Havel, presented the award. Congressional Members who support the U.S. Chamber’s position on at least 70% of the key votes receive the Spirit of Enterprise Award. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses of every size, sector and region. ### |
