Irving, TX -- Blue Shoe Project, a non-profit organization based in Colleyville, Texas, was recognized on June 30 with a congressional record by Congressman Kenny Marchant. Blue Shoe Project won the best traditional blues album at the recent 50th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony. Blue Shoe Project was founded by Jeff Dyson and his son, Michael Dyson. The Dyson’s shared credit for recording the winning Grammy record, Last of the Great Mississippi Delta Businessman: Live in Dallas, performed by four legendary blues musicians: Henry James Townsend, Joe Willie “Pinetop” Perkins, Robert Lockwood, Jr. and David “Honeyboy” Edwards. Marchant applauded Blue Shoe Project in their effort to preserve and advocate America’s great musical and cultural heritage for future generations. Blue Shoe Project particularly works to spread the history and enjoyment of blues music to children and young adults. To date, more than 20,000 students have experienced Blue Shoe Project presentations. ### |
