Washington, DC -- U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant recently signed a petition that states, “I will vote to increase U.S. oil production to lower gas prices for Americans.”  The petition serves as a commitment to enhance American energy security by exploring domestic energy resources.

“American energy security demands thoughtful solutions that utilize safe, effective, and diverse resources,” said Marchant.  “To lower gas prices and enhance energy independence, America must explore domestic energy resources, invest in alternative fuels and innovative new technologies, and also make conservation a higher priority.  A diverse energy policy is a secure energy policy.”

The petition was signed by numerous other U.S. representatives and was originally drafted by Rep. Westmoreland (GA).
