CONGRESSWOMAN JOHNSON ANNOUNCES A $38,891 HHS GRANT AWARD TO THE DALLAS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson announced that the Dallas Independent School District has been awarded a $38,891 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.

This funding will be used as a state demonstration to support the development and implementation of effective health education for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and other important health concerns for school-age populations.

“This grant will be used to teach our Dallas school children how to lead a healthy and productive life,” said Congresswoman Johnson.  “Each day our young people are faced with choices that may endanger their health and their future.  This grant will help to ensure resources to promote awareness of the dangers and risk factors associated with HIV disease.”
