Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson today pointed out that nearly $110 million in tax refund checks remain unclaimed according to a news release by the Internal Revenue Service.
"Dallas residents should be paid every dollar they are owed by the IRS, and I want to help ensure they get the refund checks they deserve," said Congresswoman Johnson.
At least 115,478 taxpayers are due refunds, averaging about $953, after the checks were returned as undeliverable. The funds can be claimed as soon as taxpayers update their address with the IRS.
