Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson was recognized by the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) for a perfect record in the organization’s Congressional Record of Support for 2007. Congresswoman Johnson is among 194 members of Congress who achieved a perfect record in 2007 for her support of NBCC’s legislative priorities. "Breast cancer is a disease that affects us all," Congresswoman Johnson said. "As a former nurse, I am proud to support legislation designed to prevent, diagnose and cure the disease. I applaud the National Breast Cancer Coalition and Dallas-based advocates' commitment to educating people about breast cancer and health care policy initiatives."
On April 25, Congresswoman Johnson introduced a resolution, H.Con.Res. 129, recognizing the 25th anniversary of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and commending its leadership in the breast cancer movement. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is based in Dallas.
The NBCC’s four legislative priorities for 2007 were:
Guaranteed access to quality health care for all;
