CONGRESSWOMAN JOHNSON ANNOUNCES MORE THAN $20.5 MILLION IN GRANT AWARDS FROM THE ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON FOUNDATION

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson today, announced more than $20.5 million in grant awards from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. These funds will be used to improve quality health care, fight childhood obesity, and provide research.
“The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is one of the leading philanthropic organizations in the fight for quality health care for all Americans,” said Congresswoman Johnson. “I am certain that this generous funding for programs within the 30th Congressional District will greatly benefit the well being of the people of Dallas.”
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Grants were distributed to the following organizations in the 30th Congressional District:
$19,975,607 to the American Heart Association for the purpose of expanding the Healthy School Program to fighting childhood obesity.
$416,558 to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for the Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program. $203,626 to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center to study iron deficiency and prolonged bottle-feeding. For more than 35 years, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has been dedicated to improving the health and health care of all Americans, with a particular interest in the health of the most vulnerable among us.
