Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson was honored Saturday night at the YWCA Centennial Gala at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. The YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas chose Congresswoman Johnson as one of the 100 women to receive its YWCA Centennial Award.
"I am a long-time supporter of the YWCA and of its efforts to empower women and help them achieve self-sufficiency," Congresswoman Johnson said. "The YWCA’s services and educational programs make our Dallas community a better place, and I am honored to receive their recognition."
The proceeds from the YWCA Centennial Gala, titled "100 Women, 100 Years," will benefit YWCA programs. The YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas is currently focusing on four key program areas: childcare, women’s health, parenting and literacy.
