CONGRESSWOMAN JOHNSON ANNOUNCES MORE THAN $8.5 MILLION IN HUD GRANTS FOR DALLAS METROPLEX

HUD grants aimed at homeless programs, transitional housing and other supportive services |

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson today, announced more than $8.5 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The funds will go toward the Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance competitive programs which provide funding for a range of assistance to homeless persons, including transitional housing, permanent housing and a variety of supportive services. The Continuum programs are the Supportive Housing Program, Shelter Plus Care Program and the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation for SRO Dwellings for Homeless Individuals.
“I am encouraged that the programs so critical to the homeless and those less fortunate will benefit from these federal funds,” said Congresswoman Johnson, “I look forward to my continued work in Congress to help ensure that this critical funding is available for all our communities, to help our cities grow and prosper, and to enable our residents to achieve the American Dream.”
