(Washington, DC, October 2, 2006) — Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen is pleased to announce that the Inter Island Parent Coalition for Change, Inc has been awarded a grant in the amount of $429,863.00 from the United States Department of Education.

This funding comes from the Parental Information and Resource Centers program. The goal of this program is to help implement successful and effective parental involvement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student academic achievement and strengthen partnerships among parents, teachers, principals and other school personnel in meeting the educational needs of the children.
