(Washington, DC, November 15, 2006) — Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen is pleased to announce that the United States Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a grant to the Virgin Islands Department of Health in the amount of $201,618.00.

These funds will be used for the Maternal and Child Health Services Program. This program has been developed to enable states to maintain and strengthen their leadership in planning, and promoting, coordinating and evaluating health care for pregnant women, mothers, infants and children as well as children with special needs in providing health services for mothers and children who do not have access to adequate health care.
