(Washington, DC, January 9, 2007) — Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen announced today that the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Grants and Training Preparedness Directorate have planned a series of outreach meetings to better prepare potential applicants for Round Seven of the Port Security Grant Process.

At these meetings, specific aspects of the FY 2007 Port Security Grant Process will be outlined.  National priorities will also be discussed questions from stakeholders will be answered regarding the grant process.  Invited are port, vessel, high capacity ferry system operators, facility operators, State Homeland Security Directors, local government agencies and congressional staff.  A meeting will be held in San Juan, PR on January 24, 2007.  For more information, please contact Victor Gonzalez at (787)-289-2082.
