| (Washington, DC, January 29, 2007) — Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen met with Puerto Rico Governor Anibal Acevedo Vila today on the eve of her assuming the chairmanship of the Resources Committee’s panel on Insular Affairs. They discussed issues that are of concern to both Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands such as status and lifting the cap on rum and the need for increased federal law enforcement in the islands. “The meeting was fruitful and solidified our resolve to work together on issues of mutual concern,” Christensen said. | |||
