Welch reacts to Supreme Court ruling on C02
Burlington, VT -- Rep. Peter Welch issued the following statement in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling that carbon dioxide emissions can be regulated under the Clean Air Act:
"I applaud the Supreme Court's decision today. The Court has made clear what President Bush and his Administration have for too-long ignored - carbon dioxide is a pollutant and it should be regulated. This decision means we have a fighting chance to get the Bush-led Environmental Protection Agency to do its job protecting our environment and our public health. This is a major step in recognizing the need to curb emissions and move toward a pro-environment, pro-growth, high tech energy policy."
