Reichert to Host Federal Grants Symposium in Newcastle
Local Community Organizations and Faith-Based Groups Encouraged to Come and Learn about Federal Dollars Available Exclusively to Their Organizations

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Reichert (WA-08) announced today that he is hosting a Grants Symposium on March 3, 2008, for community organizations to learn about federal dollars available exclusively for them, and how to obtain these dollars for the benefit of those they serve. During 2006, more than $2.2 billion in federal grants were awarded through the office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, and Congressman Reichert is providing this opportunity for Washington State organizations to learn how to apply and obtain this often-overlooked source of federal funding.

WHAT: A unique opportunity for faith-based charities, grassroots non-profits, and community organizations to learn how to obtain federal grants, to understand partnerships, to learn about promising practices and examples of what works, and hear an explanation of legal restrictions.
