I had an opportunity with meet with Israel's new Foreign Minister, Tzipi Livni, over looking the Gaza strip. According to her staff, the HAMAS radicals have fired over 40 rockets at Israel since the so-called ceasefire was declared. So far, Israel has not responded

I also got an opportunity to talk with Israel's Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert. We talked about Iran and their President's repeated statements that he wished to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.

During our stay in Jerusalem, we coincided with a visit by Britain's Prime Minister Tony Blair. While seated in Israel, most of our talk centered on Afghanistan and plans by NATO to increase the number of troops serving with Americans.

On our final night, we shared supper with Senator Lieberman and his wife, Hadassah. I told her that Kimberly was a fan of hers -- as Senator Lieberman says, a known "hard-liner" on the importance of family.
