WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Bart Stupak (D-Menominee) announced Bay Mills Community College has received $220,000 for upgrades to its Health and Fitness facility.  The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Tribal College Initiative Community Facility Grant program.

“These upgrades will allow Bay Mills Community College to better meet the needs of the students, faculty, and area residents who take advantage of the many services offered by the college,” Stupak said.  “I am pleased the USDA has recognized the important role community colleges play in rural areas with this investment in Bay Mills Community College.”

Bay Mills Community College will use the funds to construct a 2,000 square foot addition to the college’s Health and Fitness facility.  The project will include the addition of offices, rehabilitation and physical therapy areas, paving of the parking areas, and landscaping.
