Hands Off Hillary

“Many of you are well enough off that…the tax cuts may have helped you.   We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you.  We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”
                                                                                             - Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
                                                                                              June 28th, San Francisco, CA

This quote outlines what I fight in Washington everyday.  There are people who want take away your money and put it to programs they think deserve it.

I have continually worked to change the mindset of  people in Washington.  They need to understand that there is no such thing as federal money.  Taxes are your money, and you deserve to keep more of it.

The problem we are currently facing in Washington is not because we cut taxes.  The problem is spending.  The problem is that the federal government is taking too much money from you to pump into bureaucratic programs.

The tax cuts have helped families purchase items they need, such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators.  Small business owners have used these tax cuts to expand their businesses and hire more workers.  In short, the tax cuts are not the problem; they are the solution.

Since May, we have seen one million new jobs created; thanks to tax cuts and America’s entrepreneurial spirit.  However, many are still looking for jobs.  My main priority is to help those people find work.  My fear is that if some in Washington have their way, and take the tax cuts away, that will prevent new jobs from being created.

We cannot allow a halt in economic progress.

People need these tax cuts.  Hard working Americans know how to spend their own money better than some bureaucrat in Washington!  What we need is more people in Washington fighting to let them keep their money!

I emphatically disagree with the above quote.  For America to stay on track we need to continue cutting taxes.  We need to put the brakes on federal spending.  And we need to downsize government.
