Tax Day is no Holiday

Many calendars have April 15th denoted as “Tax Day” like it’s a holiday!  That is one big farce.  In America you are born free, but are then taxed to death.

April 15th is a day we all dread.  No one likes filling out tax forms, or, even worse, paying taxes.  We pay taxes when we pump gas, make a phone call or buy groceries.  We even pay taxes when we kiss our spouse because of something called the “marriage penalty.”  We pay taxes on everything under the sun, and most of the time we don’t even realize it.

I believe in the simple idea that the more money people have in their pockets, and the less the government gets in your way, the more prosperous America will be.  I want to make your taxes lower so that you will have more money to purchase goods, so that America can create more jobs.

Since 2000, I have worked to get the IRS off your back by voting for tax relief worth trillions of dollars.  Why?  Because it is your money, and you should be able to keep it.  A few examples of this tax relief includes child tax credits, marriage penalty relief, income tax cuts, stock dividends tax cuts, and even a death-tax cut, just to name a few.

These tax cuts have really helped Americans, and businesses.  However, many of these tax cuts expire over time, some even this year!  We are currently fighting in Washington to make sure the tax cuts are made permanent.  Any tax cut that is allowed to expire is a tax increase.  We cannot allow this to happen.

Our economy is just starting to recover.  Businesses are beginning to hire again, we are bringing jobs to the area, and consumers are starting to spend their money with more confidence.  Tax increases would only slow us down and prevent job creation.  We need to make sure we have permanent tax relief.

Remember, when you are filing your taxes, and watching your hard earned dollars disappear, that there is someone in Washington fighting to make sure that you keep more of your money.  I will continue the battle against tax increases, and big government, so that you and your family can enjoy the benefits of keeping more of the money you earned.
