| New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) - Agent Defeat by Energetic Nano-Materials (ADEN) | |||
| Amount Requested: $2,000,000 | |||
|
Agent Defeat by Energetic Nano-Materials (ADEN) will take advantage of energetic nanomaterials (EN) that have energy densities exceeding substantially that of conventional
explosives. ADEN will create a high temperature pulse, typical of conventional military incendiary systems with low pressure that will minimize dispersion of the chemical and biological
(CB) agents. In addition, it is proposed to release biocidal components that are well mixed with conventional blast products, so that all CB agents present at the target are destroyed. This will
allow for a weapon system that is capable of destroying storage bunkers without releasing lethal agents.
