The proposed green energy enhancements aspects of the project will be in excess of $13 million and include various applications of high efficiency water cooled air conditioning units, water to water heat pumps, geothermal heating and photovoltaic collection units. The Museum has funds for Equipment and Construction. The Museum will be one of the most energy efficient in the United States and will be a model for the construction of future arts institutions. The project will create more than 261 full-time equivalent construction-related jobs for each of four years. When the project is complete, the Museum will have an estimated 500 full-time and part-time staff positions, an increase of 200 jobs. The Project will be a major economic catalyst for the State of New Jersey and the City of Newark. |
