| Project Description - This funding will help to continue the basic and applied research already underway that is directly related to urgent military and civilian needs in the areas of bioterrorism and pandemic preparedness, detection and protection, and which now can be expanded through the RBL facility. The RBL, one of 13 funded by the NIH across the country, is a unique asset in our national strategy to fight bioterrorism, and all RBL's will require significant research resources in the future to insure their financial stability and support the successful implementation of our nation's bioterrorism and pandemic preparedness strategies. Requested funding will continue the basic and applied research already underway that is directly related to urgent military and civilian needs in the areas of detection and protection, and which now can be expanded through the RBL facility. | |||
