|
Approximately 40,000 people die each year in the US as a resulting of bleeding after trauma. In combat, bleeding is the leading cause of preventable death. New drugs are needed to treat bleeding in military and civilian trauma victims. This project will develop recombinant fibrinogen to stop life threatening bleeding and recombinant C1 inhibitor to minimize the consequences of bleeding, such as organ failure.
