	D.A.R.E. New Jersey, Inc. - Middle School Drug and Safety Prevention Project

	Amount Requested: $354,742
	Funds would be used to implement the new D.A.R.E. Middle School/Junior High School Program, "Keepin'It Real". This is a model substance abuse prevention education program on the SAMSHA national Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP). D.A.R.E. New Jersey's project will focus on four major areas: 1. Providing accurate information about drugs, alcohol, and violence. 2. Teaching students good decision skills. 3. Showing students how to recognize and resist peer pressure. 4. Giving students ideas for positive alternatives to drug and violence. This is a statewide request but funds would be granted to local D.A.R.E program sites.
