Supports an international toll-free crisis line for American domestic violence and child abuse victims in foreign countries. Funds would be used to provide domestic violence and child abuse advocacy, resources, and tools so that abused American women and children can navigate the jurisdictional, legal, and social international landscapes to be able to live their lives free of abuse either in the foreign country or back in the United States. Funds would stabilize operations until the crisis line is able to receive funding under the Violence Against Women Act, which will be reauthorized in 2010. 866-USWOMEN operates 24 hours per day, five days per week.
