Supports a multiyear collaborative research partnership between the West Coast salmon troll industry and university, federal, and state agency scientists. Researchers combine at-sea and laboratory research in developing refined spatial and temporal approaches for reducing by-catch of weak salmon stocks and avoiding long-term closures of the salmon fishery. Funds would be used to plan, conduct, analyze, and communicate salmon research in order to improve salmon management.
