Supports an integrated science complex that is currently being build to enhance the university’s leading educational and research programs in the sciences and its existing capacity to serve as a high-tech extension service for Oregon industry. The facility will provide specialized laboratories as well as major research instrumentation and research laboratories for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and other brain imaging technologies, genomics and proteomics, microscopy, materials and chemical analysis, and advanced computation. Funds would be used to equip key facilities with state-of-the-art materials, equipment, and instrumentation, including a permanent crane system for moving high-tech instrumentation among laboratories and buildings and major instrumentation facilities with special requirements for power conditioning, controlled environments, isolation of magnetic and electrical fields, and vibration isolation.
