Supports a research and demonstration program aimed at filling gaps in scientific knowledge identified through the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds. This cooperative, collaborative public-private program of research and outreach was initiated through local support. Funds will be used to enhance that local support and achieve the full scientific potential of the effort, including work to continue major studies at Hinkle Creek and the Trask River watershed, as well as the reactivation of the historic Alsea watershed. It is estimated that approximately 80 percent of funds will go to support Oregon residents as research workers, including university employees, graduate students, and local contractors.
