Statement on Libya |
"Given the brutal attacks that were being committed against innocent civilians in Libya, it was proper for President Obama, as Commander-in-Chief, to work with our allies in an effort to stop the slaughter. The President must do a better job, however, of communicating to the American people and Congress what the ultimate goal of our mission in Libya is and to clearly define how this goal will be accomplished. At a time when our military is already tasked with several difficult missions across the globe, we cannot send our courageous troops into harm’s way without a clearly defined mission and a full and vigorous accounting of the objectives and costs of that mission." |
