Statement on U.S. District Court Ruling Regarding the Health Care Law

"Today’s U.S. District Court ruling confirms that the individual mandates within the health care law overstep the boundaries of the federal government’s authority under the U.S. Constitution,” said Congressman Todd Platts (PA-19). The U.S. Supreme Court should expedite consideration of this issue to assist employers and families who are grappling with the costs and uncertainty surrounding the implementation of this law. In the meantime, I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to repeal the health care law and replace it with common sense health care reforms that will truly lower health care costs for all Americans.”
