Federal agencies are experiencing shortages of workers as the Baby Boomer generation begins to retire. Knowledgeable retirees are often needed in order to complete large projects and train a new workforce. 

H.R. 3579 would allow civil service retirees to continue working for other federal agencies on a temporary basis without having a negative impact on their annuity benefits. It is important that we encourage public servants who are experienced, knowledgeable and willing to continue working to do so.  I look forward to supporting this legislation as it makes its way to the House floor.
