Israel has every right to defend its citizens from attacks by Hamas militants. But, working toward a non-violent coexistence is in the best interests of Israel and the Palestinian people. On January 9, I voted for H.Res. 34 to reaffirm my support for the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Continued diplomatic pressure by the international community is critical to relieving the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. I will continue to support efforts to establish peace and security in the Middle East.
