Millions of Americans have lost their jobs since the President promised immediate relief with the 'stimulus' bill in February. But Americans are still hurting as jobs remain hard to find and wages shrivel for those fortunate to still have a job.
The REBOUND Act, which I cosponsored, would save taxpayers $460 billion by repealing the spending in the President's 'stimulus' package. It would also prohibit the Treasury Secretary from giving away more TARP funds and require all repayments to go exclusively to debt reduction.
Wasteful government spending, new regulations and increased taxes are not the way to help American workers and families who are struggling to make ends meet. We need to focus on innovation and technology to build the infrastructure that will spur economic development and put people back to work.
