We need to make health care accessible and affordable for all but we cannot expand care on the backs of our nation’s seniors. President Obama’s proposed budget includes cuts to Medicare home health reimbursement to help pay for his new health insurance program.

Medicare home health benefits are so important to the many families who want to care for their loved one at home. While we need to find ways to make Medicare more efficient and reduce costs, cutting funding for these important services is not the way to do it. 

In the past, I have fought cuts to home health benefits. I will continue doing all I can to make sure these services are reimbursed at a reasonable rate so our seniors have access to the care they need.
