Safe drinking water is a scarce resource in many regions of the world. As a global superpower and world economic leader, the United States must be consistent and responsible in its role around the world.
As an original cosponsor of the Senator Paul Simon Water for the World Act of 2009, I support the bill’s goal of providing millions of people with sustainable access to safe drinking water and sanitation by 2015.
Our economic power gives us the ability to wield great influence with other nations. We must use this power as a force for good.
