As the death toll continues to rise, Americans are understandably concerned about the swine flu (HINI) outbreak. Federal officials are asking Americans to avoid any non-essential travel to Mexico and those re-entering our country are being watched carefully. The order to close the U.S./Mexico border has not been made.
Health officials are working with the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security to contain this virus and prevent it from becoming an international pandemic. You may want to visit www.cdc.gov/swineflu for more information. My staff and I are following this situation very carefully.
