President Obama’s budget outline spends too much, taxes too much and borrows too much. The projected deficit in his budget request is more than the past five-year's deficits combined. As a lead republican on the House committee that makes funding decisions, I will advocate for a more conservative approach to solve our economic problems as we begin the budget season.
A true stimulus plan is needed and raising taxes is the wrong way to do it. We need just the opposite: investment in targeted job-creating infrastructure, energy and transportation programs and investment incentives for small businesses.
