M.A.L.E., Inc. is a non-profit corporation organized that serves underprivileged youth and adult ex-offenders in the 9th Congressional District of Texas. The mission of M.A.L.E.’s Reentry Initiative is to compliment  The Second Chance Act by mentoring and providing opportunities for ex-offenders to get help to stem the tide of re-incarceration by making it easier for them to reintegrate into society.  Moreover, the funding will help create and maintain an effective partnership to provide high quality, reentry services through mentoring, prevention/intervention that will foster productive citizenship, and be evaluated on its success of reducing recidivism. The Second Act which was signed into law on April 9, 2008, is an investment in programs proven to reduce recidivism and the financial burden of corrections on state and local governments, while increasing public safety.
