Congressman Al Green: Working for the People of the Ninth District of Texas

 University of Houston

Amount Requested: $550,000.00

The requested funding will go towards supporting the National Security Support Complex at the University of Houston. The National Security Support Complex is designed to address the national security challenges facing the U.S., as well as the growth in the number of veteran and ROTC students at UH.  The Center for Applied Leadership seminars are the only ones nationally in which active duty military officers assigned to ROTC teach leadership with civilian professors.  These seminars also motivate students to attend college and consider becoming an officer in the U.S. military.  Three seminars have already been given with very positive feedback, and seven additional seminars are scheduled in the next eighteen months.
