LUCAS ANNOUNCES $200,000 FEDERAL GRANT; WILL PRESENT TO MANGUM 8/18
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Frank Lucas will participate in a $200,000 Federal grant presentation for Mangum infrastructure improvements which Lucas says will be a major economic development factor for the city of Mangum.
Coupled with an equivalent grant through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, the $400,000 infusion will be used for sewer line improvements in the north Mangum area. The improvements will greatly assist the expansions of two existing area businesses.
"I'm delighted to have played a role in acquiring this much-needed capital improvement funding for the City of Mangum," Lucas said. "This state-federal partnership will go a long way toward aiding the expansion of existing businesses, as well as making Mangum a more attractive destination for future business development in western Oklahoma."
Congressman Lucas' office worked closely with the Southwest Oklahoma Development Authority (SWODA) on the grant application. Lucas will join SWODA representatives Gary Gorshing and C.M. Lin at the presentation.
The grant presentation will be held on Monday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mangum City Hall Annex, 129 North Oklahoma.
