Lynch Introduces Iraq Transition Act
Unsatisfied with both calls to "stay the course" and to set a fixed deadline for evacuation, I filed legislation proposing my own plan to speed withdrawal of American troops. The Iraq Transition Act of 2006 (H.R. 5716) outlines a step-by-step process for the transition of power to the newly elected Iraqi government. For more information on this legislation, read the full press release on my web site.
Lynch Fights for Additional Funding for Bulletproof Vests
The United States House of Representatives approved my amendment to increase funding for the Bulletproof Vest Partnership by $12 million. The Bulletproof Vest Partnership helps local police departments purchase additional bulletproof vests. For more information, read the full press release on my web site.
Avon Student Wins Congressional Art Competition
James P. Leonard, a junior at Avon Middle/High School, was selected as this year's Congressional Art Competition Winner for the 9th District. His submission, an acrylic painting titled "Self-Portrait with Vision," will hang in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. for one year. For more information, read the full press release on my web site.
Identity Theft Information
The theft last month of a Department of Veterans Affairs employees' laptop renewed concerns of identity theft. There are simple steps you can take to protect yourself. For more information, please download the Identity Theft postcard from my web site.
