Many large corporations and colleges call the 10th district home.
- Dell Computers - This Corporation was named the No. 1 "Most Admired Company" of 2005 by Fortune Magazine. Calling Round Rock, TX home for almost 20 years, Dell Computers provides jobs to hundreds of central Texans.
- Applied Materials, Inc. - The global leader in nanomanufacturing technology solutions, with a broad portfolio of innovative equipment, services and software products for the fabrication of semiconductors, flat panels, solar photovoltaic cells, flexible electronics and energy-efficient glass. Applied began operations in Austin in 1992, and this site now is the company's primary manufacturing facility.
- Blue Bell Creameries - Serving a unique homemade type of ice cream to millions of people nation-wide, Blue Bell has called Brenham, TX home since 1907.
- Armor Holdings, Aerospace and Defense Group, Tactical Vehicles System Division - Located in Sealy with 1,850 employees, this division is the exclusive manufacturer of the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), considered the most sophisticated and capable off-road, multi-purpose military tactical vehicle in use today.
- The University of Texas at Austin (UT) - Founded in 1883, with over 48,000 students, UT makes up one of the largest universities in the nation.
- Blinn Junior College - Founded in 1883 in Brenham, TX, this junior college serves Washington County students.
- Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) - Part of the Texas A&M University System, it is a land-grant university authorized under the Morrill Acts of 1862 and 1890. PVAMU is the second oldest institution of higher learning in Texas.
