Internships

Washington, D.C. Office

My Washington , D.C. internship program is designed to give students a “hands-on” experience in a Congressional office. The program enables the participant to experience first-hand the operations of a Congressional office and gain a unique perspective on the legislative process. During the internship, the student will perform a host of duties associated with the day-to-day operations of the office. Interns are also encouraged to further their learning experience by attending briefings, committee hearings, press conferences and other relevant events on Capitol Hill. Internships are not monetarily compensated, nor do student interns receive a living or transportation stipend. Student interns can receive collegiate credit. The amount of credit awarded is based on the program requirements of the individual college or university.

Texas District Offices

Internships are available in my Austin and Tomball District offices only. These positions in the district offices offer a wide variety of experience and provide unique insight into the operations of my Texas offices.

As with internships in my Washington, DC office, Texas-based internships are not monetarily compensated. However, student interns can receive collegiate credit. The amount of credit awarded is based on the program requirements of the individual college or university.
