for Speaking at a Hill Briefing on "Roe v. Wade."

Congressman Jim McDermott recently reaffirmed his commitment to women's rights when he joined other congressional leaders at a news conference in Washington, D.C., for the release of a new study by the Center for Reproductive Rights.

In remarks at the news conference, McDermott, a doctor and psychiatrist, said, "40 years ago, I had to try and save the lives of women who had been butchered in back alley abortions. We cannot go back."
